"Have all a partner? Okay, here we go!" today is again a forest day in kindergarten st. Antonius in fall. Together with their teachers melanie, swantje and birgit, the children aged between two and six set off for the nearby waldstuck on the outskirts of gefall.
"In april 2015, we went to the forest for the first time", remembers kindergarten director katja endres. "We had planned and prepared everything well. Nevertheless, it was exciting, because even the youngest were involved at that time."
New and exciting
in the meantime, regular forest days have become an integral part of the educational work. And what do the children think?? "They look forward to it every time and ask when they will finally go into the forest again. There is always something new and exciting to discover! Also for us educators."
In addition to our own research and play in nature, there are also ideas and projects in cooperation with the rhon biosphere reserve and the responsible forester, mr. Dahmer.
"Despite additional work, we decided this year to submit the documentation guide of one of our forest projects to the LBV (landesbund fur vogelschutz e.V.)."
Certificate for commitment
it was definitely worth it! Now the kindergarten st. Antonius is one of 103 facilities in all of bavaria to receive the "okokids" award. Dr. Christian barth, head of the bavarian ministry of the environment and health, presented the certificate to the award-winning daycare centers at a specialist event in nurnberg. In his speech, he thanked for the impressive commitment and the enormous variety of the projects.
By addressing important environmental and sustainability issues, values and key competencies are challenged among children. This is also in the sense of the bavarian education and education plan, it continues at the event.
